Dr Kathy Winston
Hello! I am Kathy – a passionate piano and music theory teacher, learning and development specialist and entrepreneur.
With a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Piano Performance and also hold a Doctor of Musical Arts in piano pedagogy, I have taught piano and music theory privately as well as at three universities across all ages and abilities for over 25 years.
The Creation of Piano Program
In 2018 I realized that music theory can be taught much, much better and started and founded Piano Program LLC.
Taking my Music Theory Courses & Resources for teachers and students worldwide by launching the Learning Management Platform in 2020
Entrepreneurship
After selling my music school in the Austin, TX area with 18 teachers as employees and over 350 students at any given time, I am now invited to speak at business and networking events and conferences. I also set up a business coaching service helping music professionals create a successful business within our industry.
My other ‘Loves’
In my spare time I play the organ and coach the choir in my local church or take my what breed dog ‘name’ for long hikes outside Cedar Park TX.

The courses and resources of all Piano Program products are intended to save teachers time and energy and provide the tools to teach in new and effective ways. Building a community of supportive music teachers is vital as we are often isolated in out craft.
