5 Finger Sight Reading Cards: C Major and A Minor

Description

Sometimes our beginning students just need a little more practice reading in 5-finger positions!  The nine cards in this set focus on the C Major Pentascale (7 cards) and the A Minor Pentascale (2 cards).  Each sight reading card features a folk song/nursery rhyme that fits within the 5-finger position, and is only 4-8 measures long.  You can print these cards 2 per page for a fun ‘bite-sized’ assignment to give your students.  The PDF files can also be shared online with a zoom lesson.  Each card features a colorful design that will be appealing to students – the C Major cards are in blue, and the a minor cards are in pink.  These cards can also be used in the classroom on pitched percussion instruments such as Xylophone.  They can also be sung, as lyrics are included with each card.  As a bonus, your students will be introduced to melodies that have been passed down from generation to generation!  The cards use rhythms of a quarter note, half note, dotted half note, whole note, and eighth note.  Time signatures are all the simple meters of 2/4, 3/4, or 4/4.  This studio license allows you to use with all of your students online or in-person.
